Our Guide to Hosting a Jubilee Party

The Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations start next weekend and a great way to celebrate is to have a party.

Whether its a  big street party, a family party or a small  garden party we have put together a little guide to help the planning go smoothly.

The Food

You have two options, you can make your own food or buy it in.

If you are making your own here are some of our favourite Jubilee recipes:

Mary’s Cadogan’s Jubilee Chicken

Pork, Plum and Sage Pasties

Asparagus and Stilton Tart

Honey & Mustard Sausages

Jubilee Cakes from Butcher, Baker

Jubilee Trifle

For those of you that don’t fancy spending the day cooking then why not get it made for you.  Many supermarkets make platters for special occasions and several are producing special Jubilee ones.

The Decorations

Now the food is organised time to think about what you are going to serve it on and how to decorate the party space.

Napkins from Children's Party Shop

Tablecloth from Nellies

Bunting from Not on The Highstreet

Cups from TfL Shop

The Entertainment

Depending on who is coming to your party you might want some entertainment especially if there is going to be children around.

Here are some ideas:

For the children you could

  • Hire a bouncy castle
  • Arts and Crafts corner
  • Musical Statues
  • Pass the Parcel
  • Paddling Pool

If its an adult party then think about the music. Make a playlist that will keep you going through the whole party, that way you won’t have to worry about it as the party gets in to full swing.

If you prefer CD’s then Amazon have a huge selection of Jubilee inspired music with prices to suit every budget.

Lastly if you could hire some entertainment, Be On the Scene  is an online community for those with talent to network and showcase their talents.

The Outfit

The food, decoration and entertainment is all sorted out now you need your party outfit.

We have already covered party outfits for Boys and Girls, now its time for the adults.
